Most people usually say and promise things, but then those words go away. In this situation, my favorite expression reminds me that “actions speak louder than words.” People need to demonstrate that something they think, speak, or promise is followed by their actions. For example, a mother tells her young daughter how to be responsible by asking her to help with some chores at home, such as picking up toys from her room, helping to fold the clothes, or doing homework when she returns home from school.
But if the mother evades her own duties at home, she is not consistent with her words, and consequently her daughter will feel confused and disappointed because her mother lied to her. For this reason, people must demonstrate what they say with actions. They also need to be honest with themselves and not make promises they cannot keep.
