Ricardo Naranjo, Mexico, Writing III

On rainy day at the beach sitting under a storm cloud might make it difficult to believe that “every cloud has a silver lining.” This expression means that something good can happen from bad circumstances. It can also mean that something bad makes it difficult for us to see something good. It can be something small like tripping and falling in the street only to find a five-dollar bill on the ground next to you. Or it could be something huge like sleeping late and missing your flight and finding out that the plane had crashed.

Three years ago, I broke my hand in a motorcycle accident. While waiting for treatment in the hospital, I met a man that later hired me to work in his bank. It is important to remember to look for opportunities when things seem to go wrong.
